How long? It’s been a thorn in the butt cheek of IT media creatives for a long time – the speed of USB 2 – the alleged 400Mb that actually runs about about 20Mb for no apparent reason, the slow unstable video transfer rates, the constant need to use firewire just to retain our sanity while uploading 60GB of media…
Apparently, it’s all over now.. USB 3.0 is here. Superspeed. err.. Superspeed? sounds like a 1970′s Comic Hero’s super move. As badly named as Microsoft’s ReadyBoost.
It uses the PCI-E bus (surprise surprise) but hopefully that means that an Expresscard adapter should be available in the future for laptop mateypeeps.
